Savan Yim spent his childhood in Lynn, MA, and has lived in the Greater Boston area for most of his life. At the start of his culinary career, he fell in love with restaurant life after taking a part-time position as a cook at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ. Through hard work and dedication, Savan grew his career. He worked his way up from line cook to management positions with Margaritas, Sea Level Oyster Bar, and Pressed Café. Most recently, his impressive CV included re-opening restaurants for Grafton Group, such as State Street Provisions and Grafton Street Pub & Grill before joining the Smoke Shop team.
As a Kitchen Manager for our busiest location – Seaport, Savan oversees the daily operations of the kitchen, leading his team and making sure they have everything they need to provide the best BBQ experience for our guests. He can be seen visiting tables as well as coaching his line cooks.

Where you can find him on a day off: Rock climbing, practicing on his guitar, relaxing with friends, and testing out recipes for fermentation and brewing.
