Matt Griffin grew up and received his college degree in New Hampshire before venturing off to Colorado for graduate school, where he began his restaurant career at Ruby Tuesday. After moving around the Midwestern US with Ruby’s, Matt returned to the East Coast and joined the Cheesecake Factory team. Matt most recently spent five years working as the Regional Director of Operations for California Pizza Kitchen before joining the Smoke Shop BBQ Team.

As Director of Operations, Matt works across all our locations to help continue our brand’s growth and share Boston’s Best BBQ with more people every day.

Favorite thing about BBQ: The family culture that is inherently apart of BBQ. BBQ has had a heavy influence in my life, and I even had it catered at my wedding!

Favorite thing about working for the Smoke Shop: The commitment to our staff and our guests. We pride ourselves on treating our guests as if they are our grandmother: with kindness, respect, and hospitality.

Where you can find him on a day off: Playing with my daughter, Harper Rose, hiking in New Hampshire, or cruising on my motorcycle.
