Bill Goodwin

Bill brings decades of experience, sharp operational insight, and a deep love of hospitality to his role as Director of Operations for The Smoke Shop BBQ. A Boston University graduate with a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Bill began his career with the Sheraton Hotel chain and went on to manage restaurants in both Boston and NYC. He served as General Manager with The Lily Company, Director of Operations for The Boston & NYC Hops Microbrewery Restaurants, and Partner/COO of Classic Restaurant Concepts.

Now with The Smoke Shop BBQ, Bill is focused on strengthening systems, inspiring teams, and continuing the brand’s growth across Greater Boston and beyond. You can find him supporting our suburban and city locations, collaborating with GMs, and ensuring every guest enjoys a smooth, flavorful experience.

Where you can find him on a day off:
Bill is an outdoor enthusiast through and through. Whether he’s mountain biking, road cycling with his peloton crew, or skiing fresh powder in the winter, he’s happiest when he’s on the move and in nature.

Bill lives in Winchester with his wife Maura, a Health Education teacher in the Somerville Public Schools. They have three grown children—two in healthcare and one in international hospitality—carrying on the family tradition of service.
